Ke$ha Out For Vengeance In Musical March Madness
[info]concepcilong4

'I'm getting ready as we speak,' she tells MTV News of this year's tournament, tipping off Monday.
By James Montgomery

<P>Last year, based mainly on her attitude, the fact that she <a href="/news/articles/1644961/keha-tries-shock-world-at-casio-launch.jhtml">plays an AK-47 shaped guitar</a> and the presence of photos like <a href="http://resources2.news.com.au/images/2011/03/13/1226020/684522-ke-ha-drinks-blood.jpg" target="_blank">this</a>, Ke$ha was given an 11 seed in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament &#8212; and promptly <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2011/03/15/march-madness-u2-kesha-green-day-adam-lambert/">lost by a huge margin to U2</a> in the opening round.</P><P><CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:747290/cp~vid%3D747290%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A747290" width="430" height="242" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER></P><P>Of course, she's spent the past 12 months fuming over that early exit, and now, she's going to get her shot at redemption. Not only is Ke$ha <i>back</i> in the 2012 MMM tournament &#8212; which kicks off Monday &#8212; but she's beefed up her rock credentials: working with the likes of <a href="http://www.billboard.com/news/alice-cooper-welcomes-ke-ha-to-his-nightmare-1005326082.story#/news/alice-cooper-welcomes-ke-ha-to-his-nightmare-1005326082.story" target="_blank">Alice Cooper</a>, channeling the <a href="/news/articles/1663946/kesha-new-album.jhtml">"sexiness" of '70s rock</a> on her new album, recording a (genuinely pretty great) <a href="/news/articles/1676260/kesha-bob-dylan-cover.jhtml">cover of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright"</a> and spending time <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/keshasuxx/status/160937170826313728" target="_blank">snorting Tums</a> with Wayne Coyne.</P><P>So, yeah, this year, she's ready to knock off the field of 63 other acts gunning for the MMM trophy &#8212; a brimming bracket that includes <a href="/news/articles/1661353/musical-march-madness-winner-green-day.jhtml">defending champions Green Day</LINK>, upstarts <link type="content" id="1680595">Fun.</a> and <a href="/news/articles/1678693/black-keys-kesha.jhtml">good pals the Black Keys</a>, to name just a few &#8212; and reign supreme. But just in case all that rock-and-roll prep work isn't enough to put her over the top, well, Ke$ha has another secret weapon at the ready: an incredibly toned pelvic floor.</P><P>"I'm getting ready as we speak. I'm doing Kegels," she told MTV News, while throwing phantom punches at an unsuspecting cameraman. "Vote for me!"</P><P><b>MTV's 2012 Musical March Madness tournament begins Monday, March 12, when we'll unveil the full field of 64 bands that will battle for this year's championship. Winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act made the cut, it will be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM &#8212; but get ready, it's gonna be a war.</b></P><P><CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:746346/cp~vid%3D746346%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A746346" width="430" height="242" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER></p>

Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him

Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "</P><P>"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."</P><P>In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."</P><P>But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."</P><P>Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/timbaland/artist.jhtml">Timbaland</a>Timbaland-produced solo LP, <a href="/news/articles/1596730/chris-cornell-debuts-timbaland-produced-track-on-tv-show.jhtml"><i>Scream,</i></a> will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider <i>Scream</i> something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.</P><P>"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] <i>Euphoria Morning,</i> my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rage_against_the_machine/artist.jhtml">Rage Against the Machine</a>Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.</P><P>"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."</p>

HGTV, LA and Dining Room Tables
[info]concepcilong4

I've been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry.

When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, "There's no place for a dining room table..."

B*TCH, YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK.

I hated her.

Now there's some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn't want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor.

WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?

Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn't save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, "Ah, f*ck it," and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she's an idiot. But there's nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady?

Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.

I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.

[info]concepcilong4

Justin Bieber is hitting the road, diploma in hand! During Wednesday's airing of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 18-year-old pop star announced his upcoming Believe tour, and had an impromptu ceremony for another major life event: his high school graduation. Kristen Stewart Gets Frisky In New 'On The Road' Clip
[info]concepcilong4

Two new scenes from Walter Salles-directed film show glimpses of Stewart's and Kirsten Dunst's characters.

A few lucky cinephiles saw Kristen Stewart's latest project "On the Road" when it premiered at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (May 23), but don't turn green with envy. For those of us who weren't able to jet off to France, MTV News is debuting two new clips from the film!

The first preview gives us a closer look at Stewart's character, Marylou. Labeled as a sexually loose free spirit, she confirms the description as the scene opens with her attempting to pleasure Sal Paradise (Sam Riley) while she's driving. After admitting to Sal her fear that her husband Dean Moriarty (Garrett Hedlund) is going to leave her, she reveals her desire for a simple, secure life. "I just want a house, a baby, you know, something normal. I really do want that," she says.

As they continue their drive, she discusses the possibility of returning to a fiancée in Denver. That's when Dean wakes up in the backseat with a wide grin on his face and says, "I just had a great idea. You guys are gonna love it."

But we'll have to wait for the film's release to hear what he's thinking, because that's when the first clip ends.

Adapted from Jack Kerouac's Beat generation novel, the movie follows Dean, Marylou and Sal on their provocative road trip across America in search of self-discovery. As they pursue "it" — the pure essence of experience — they find themselves encountering an eclectic group of people who influence their journey in different ways. One of the people they come across is Camille, played by Kirsten Dunst.

The second scene gives us a preview of Camille and Sal's blossoming relationship as they sway back and forth to some jazz tunes in a bar. She asks if he's staying in Denver long, and with a look to his friends, he says he doesn't think so. But they disregard the thought and sing along to the song, laughing and enjoying the moment.

In an interview with Auréliano Tonet, director Walter Salles said it's the type of movement in this clip that helped the movie capture the energy of the book. "That's the power and drama of the characters in the film: They burn, burn, like Roman candles," he said. "How can this energy be represented onscreen? In the throbbing of bodies and gestures, constant motion, dancing. But we also had to find interludes of silence and contemplation, to contrast with the quick-paced sequences and bring out their speed."

Check out everything we've got on "On the Road."

Justin Bieber Gets His Own Graduation On 'Ellen DeGeneres Show'

Singer dons cap and gown on episode of the talk show airing Wednesday.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>A few weeks back, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> officially became a <a href="/news/articles/1684665/justin-bieber-graduates-high-school.jhtml">high school graduate</a>. But given that he was schooled on the road, the 18-year-old didn't have the pleasure of donning a cap and gown at an official graduation ceremony.</P><P>So when he stopped by <a href="http://ellen.warnerbros.com/" target="_blank">Ellen DeGeneres' talk show</a> on an episode airing Wednesday (May 23), the comedian attempted to rectify the situation.</P><P>Finally getting the chance to wear a gown and a custom-made cap that hovers over his hair so as not to muss it up, Bieber was handed a diploma by DeGeneres, who told the room, "Good afternoon. Today is an important day. It's Dollar Taco Day at the Warner Bros. cafeteria. We're here to honor the accomplishment of the Biebs, a great American who happens to be from Canada.
